Cooperative health services
Jordanian Families Cooperative
The bilingual website of a Jordanian cooperative that runs a health takaful fund for its members and their families.
A health fund has to be explained exactly, in two languages, without one wrong word.
The Jordanian Families Cooperative is a multi-purpose cooperative founded in Amman in 2025. It set up the Health Care Fund, a cooperative takaful fund that eases what families pay for treatment, and contracts GlobeMed Jordan and Medexa to administer it. We designed, wrote and built its website in Arabic and English, and launched it on jorfamilies.com on 10 October 2026.
What we did
- The words a regulator reads
- The cooperative is not an insurer and not an association, so the site never calls it either. The build fails if the word insurance, or its Arabic root, appears anywhere in either language, or if the cooperative is called an association. Every sentence about coverage carries the same qualifier: under the services approved for the member.
- Who does what, side by side
- GlobeMed Jordan and Medexa are better known than the cooperative that contracts them. The home page sets the three roles out as panels next to each other, with the cooperative first, so nobody reads an administrator as the owner of the fund.
- Arabic first, English on its own
- Nine pages in each language. The Arabic was written first and the English was written separately, not translated from it. The build refuses to run if a line of copy exists in one language and not the other, and the language switch always lands on the same page, never the home page.
- Nothing the client did not give us
- There is no statistics strip. Member counts, provider counts and prices were never supplied, so they are not on the site. Every fact that is there comes from the cooperative’s own profile deck or from its written answers to our questions, and the contact cards stayed hidden until the real phone number and address arrived.
- Answerable, not just findable
- People now ask an assistant before they open a search engine. The questions members actually ask are answered in full sentences on the site, marked up as one connected graph per page, and published in llms.txt, generated from the same content files as the pages.
The opening
Families from across the Kingdom, gathering into one mark.
Tens of thousands of marks gather into the map of Jordan, then stand up as the cooperative’s logo, drawn from its own artwork rather than redrawn. On reduced motion, Data Saver, a slow connection, a low-memory phone or a browser without WebGL2, visitors get the still logo and the 3D library is never downloaded. The animation counts drawn frames rather than seconds, so a page opened in a background tab waits for the visitor instead of playing to nobody.

The services
What the services may include, and how a member reaches them.
Six areas of care, each described within the approved limits rather than promised outright, then the journey from a first question to using the covered services in four steps.

The roles
The cooperative provides the service. Its partners administer it.
The one panel on the site that is about structure rather than services, because it is the thing a member most needs to get right.

The questions
The answers members ask for, in sentences an assistant can quote.
Who can join, whether family members are covered, which services need prior approval, what happens to waiting periods for someone who already had cover. Each answer stands on its own, so it still makes sense when it is quoted alone.

On a phone
Where most members will read it.
Every page was checked at ten widths from 320 to 1920 pixels, then again in Safari’s engine and Firefox at phone and laptop widths. None of them scrolls sideways.

Lighthouse on the live Arabic home page, 11 October 2026. The mobile score moves because the opening is still in motion while the page is measured. That is the cost of the animation, and visitors on slow or low-memory phones get the still logo instead.
